Our Building

The museum does not only house interesting historical artefacts. It is one itself. Click on the ‘Museum Building’ on the drop down menu to learn more.

We are very lucky here at the museum. Situated right next door is the ancient St. Brides Kirk, the mausoleum of the Black Douglases. Visitors to the museum can be taken into the Kirk by our volunteers. Click on the ‘St. Bride’s Kirk’ option on the drop down menu to learn more about this local landmark.

Opening Times

14:00-17:00 Saturday and Sunday from the first weekend in April to the last weekend in September.

Outside of these hours we can open up by appointment.

Please note that St Bride’s Kirk, managed by Historic Environment Scotland, has been closed since 2022 and we remain unaware of when it will reopen.
